What Inspires the Purpurean Guild?

In a garden, a guild is a community of plants that together create a nourishing environment.

Purpurea is a Latin species name that means "purple" like the Echinacea purpurea plants above.

The ancient Latin word for a Tyrian purple dye is purpura (from Greek πορφύρα).

Lydia of Thyatira's House Church

Lydia led a very special house church 2000 years ago (Acts 16). She was also a purple merchant --  πορφυρόπωλις (porphyropōlis) on a major trade route in the Roman Empire. She was likely in a trade guild in Philippi.

Feminine Leadership is Sacred

From the 1st Century to this day, women come together to get things done while we share life -- seeking the Good, the Beautiful, and the True.  We lead from the heart. And, like the guild in the garden, we together create nourishing environments for our communities.
