The Purpurean Guild is named in honor of Lydia of Thyatira, a businesswoman and church leader in the 1st Century. She was a merchant in purple cloth and owned a household on a major trade route (Acts 16). Two thousand years ago, before the "Christian" church even had a Bible, she found her calling and she took action. She didn't ask for approval. She had something way better than approval -- holy courage. She stepped into faith leadership and created a sanctuary for the sacred to flourish. That changed her life, her community, and beyond.
